Marina Bay Sands

Three towers, one ship-shaped SkyPark and the most photographed rooftop pool in Asia. Below it all sits one of the region’s most polished casinos.

What the floor tells us

Marina Bay Sands opened in 2010 and changed Singapore’s skyline overnight. Three hotel towers support the SkyPark, a long platform across the top that holds gardens, restaurants and the famous infinity pool, which is reserved for hotel guests.

Rooms are modern and comfortable, but the view is the point. Ask for a high floor facing either the bay or the Gardens by the Bay, and time a walk along the waterfront for the evening light and water show.

The casino is large, bright and very organised, with tables, slots and private rooms for premium players. Foreign visitors enter with a passport, while Singapore citizens and permanent residents pay an entry levy, so bring your ID.

Between sessions, the resort connects to a large shopping mall, the ArtScience Museum and dozens of restaurants, so it is easy to fill a long weekend without ever needing a taxi.

The lake, the fountains and the glass-flower ceiling are famous for good reason. Behind them is a calm, well-run hotel with one of the Strip’s classiest gaming floors.

Wynn Las Vegas

A bronze curved tower, flower-filled walkways and a golf course in the middle of the desert. Wynn is the place to go when you want Vegas with the volume turned down.
